A wind turbine, roof systems with total power output of 250 kWp and a solar park with 2,200 kWp. That is the energy and environmental balance sheet that farmer Gerd Baumgärtner can be proud of. The father of five children can justifiably claim that he is actively involved in protecting the environment and for years has been working on creating a safe and clean supply of energy for future generations.
It all began in 1994. Back then, Gerd Baumgärtner took on his first mammoth project and installed a wind turbine on his farmland. Excited by the idea of renewable energy,
he then went on to install photovoltaic systems on the roofs of his farm buildings. Today, all of the roofs are completely covered and produce an installed total power output of 250 kWp.
Having accomplished this, it was time for greater plans. In 2005, the innovative farmer cultivated an idea for something really big. He had a piece of land right at his doorstep that he wanted to use to create a solar park. The implementation of the ambitious plan was considerably more difficult than he originally hoped. The development planning process and subsequent approval process stretched out for years. Doubts about the feasibility of the project often arose,
but Gerd Baumgärtner never lost sight of his goal. In the spring of 2010, he had the building permit in his pocket and was able to give F&S solar concept the order to build his solar plant.
Now, everything is working according to plan. A solar park with a total power output of more than 2.2 megawatts was erected within a record time of eight weeks. Meanwhile, Mr. Baumgärtner produces several million kilowatt hours of power annually with his green energy sources. He has developed into an energy giant. But into a good one. The power that is produced is absolutely clean and safe.
