Dellbrück Business Park
The part of Cologne now known as Dellbrück was settled 8,000 years ago. Something that is even more interesting is that Dellbrück underwent its economic boom at the end of the 18th century with the help of renewable energies. Under the rule of the Franks, the course of the Strunder was created and this encouraged the subsequent construction of various mills. From that time on, everything that could be milled was milled using the power of the water.
A further, important step was undertaken in 1904 with the settlement of the Walther company in the then newly founded Dellbrück Business Park. For a century, the business park remained in the possession of Walther, until it was eventually taken over at the start of the new millennium by the current operator under the name Leskan Park. It has continued under this name. After over 100 years, Dellbrück is now making headlines again on the issue of renewable energies.
In early 2009, the Reissdorf family commissioned F&S solar concept to build a MW power plant. In the following months, a 1,000 kWp (1 MW) photovoltaic system was installed on the roofs of various buildings. This time around, it is not power from water that supplies the energy, but rather from the sun. The solar plant now supplies over 260 Dellbrück households with electricity. Totally reliable and totally clean. That is interesting, intelligent and innovative.
